Pre-schools in Bangalore
This topic is primarily for folks who are interested in pre-schools in Bangalore and who have emailed me for information.
There are lots and lots of pre-schools in all areas of Bangalore. And, there are also lots of pre-schools that are new and have modern, read western, methods of teaching young kids the basics. Typically these newer pre-schools have lots of learning equipments in the classrooms. And the ratio of the teacher to the students is very good. The modern/western, friendlier pre-schools are also the more expensive ones.
Some of the pre-school chains that I am familiar with and those that have branches in Bangalore are listed below:
Please Note: The numbering has nothing to do with their ranking. I am just listing the ones that I have heard of.
- Eurokids - Eurokids has about 23 branches in Bangalore and is conveniently located in many neighborhoods. See my earlier posts about Eurokids - “Eurokids - A review” and “Eurokids - A Franchisee Operation“.
- Kidzee - One of my friends sent her daughter here for nursery and was pretty happy with the school. Kidzee has about 16 branches all over Bangalore.
- Neev - I first heard of Neev from Silkboard, when he mentioned it in the comments here. Since then, I have also met parents who send their kids to Neev, and they have only good things to say about the school. In my review of Eurokids, the couple of things I said I was not really happy about were the very few hours at school everyday and the number of closed days in a year. Neev is good on both of these counts. They have longer hours and are open on most holidays. This school, however, only has 2 branches. One in Whitefield and the other in Indiranagar. [ On Zeeksha ]
- Kara - I personally do not know kids that go to a Kara school. But, from the little I have heard, it sounds good. They have 3 branches. One in HSR layout, another in RMV 2nd stage and a third one in Jaymahal Extension. [ On Zeeksha ]
Apart from these chains, there are some good preschools that I have heard of. Each of the following seems/sounds very good.
- Gaia - Comes with very high recommendation from parents who send their kids here. So, I am guessing it is really good. I have known some U.S-returned parents who cannot stop talking about this school. I have not visited the school, and so wouldn’t know much personally. The school is in RT Nagar. [ On Zeeksha ]
- Buddhi - I have been to the campus and it looked pretty good. The school is not restricted to pre-school. The campus is in RMV 2nd Stage. You can learn more about the school and it’s programs on the website. [ On Zeeksha ]
- Prayag Montessori - I know nothing about this school. However, when I searched online for pre-schools in Bangalore, I came across this school’s website, and it seems to be a true Montessori. It is in Padmanabhanagar.
- Podar-Jumbo kids: Have seen their ads. That’s about it.

i just wanted to share few things about KIDZEE Banaswadi and Kaggadasapura. My child was fortunate to study at both the centres. the teaching methodology, ambience, atmosphere created by them is excellent. i was extremely happy about it.

I would like to share my experience with EuroKids pre-school (Brookefields area, Whitefield).
To be true, it turned out to be bad experience.
When my Daughter was 2years 2months, I prepared her for going to the school. She was very intrested and happy to go out and enjoy with other kids. Surprisingly on first few days including first day she didn’t cry, she was ready to leave me and happy to be part of school. Eventually she didn’t want to go school or play with other kids. This put me down. She infact started crying to go to school. We were very worried about this act of her. When we approched the teacher in Eurokids, she started with complaining about my kid. This irritated us. As a teacher we expected her to take care of our kid to be part of school activity and group activities in the school. When teacher complains this shows that she was not capable of doing her work. We also observed that teacher shouting with the kids which is not an healty environment.
We discontinued my daughters toddler section from midterm itself. She is at home. She took few months to be out of fear. Now she is back to normal and enjoying back with other kids in the park.
We have took the admission for Playgroup in Deans academy. This is refered to be good school system.

I am Gurpreet. We live at Chinnapanhalli.
I have kid who just turned two. I am looking to put him in play school in next session (June 2008). I prefer deens academy but I am little worried about commute. I feel he is two young to travel alone(without parents) in school bus for 7-8 km (from Chinnapan halli). After Deens Academy I am thinking of either EuroKids or Kidzee. Do you have any idea about Kidzee?

I have come across a very good pre school and day care centre in hsr layout. After spending time in various locations in bangalore and having sent my kid to quite a few other play groups( angle heart) I find this place named kid glove just perfect. the personal attention being given to the child is unheard of. The principal os a little choosy when it comes to admission but once in they take as good a care of your kid as thier own.. the place is named kid glove itsin hsr 1st sector the principle’s name is meenakshi law and her number is 9740440591

I took my daughter to Kangaroo KIds Indiranagar for 6 months for a mother toddler group.It was an excellent experience and my child was very well cared for .The teachers were very warm and friendly and one felt that the child is in good hands.Alot of pre-schools discuss curriculums with parents now and that could help u decide further .

Just wanted to update the info on Kara. I returned to India in June, 2008. Put my daughter in Kara in HSR Layout. She loves it there. I was apprehensive in the beginning, but have made a turn around. I would give the school full marks on cleanliness, curriculum and student-teacher ratio. It is slightly more expensive than neighboring schools. But I will be sending my younger daughter, aged two there soon. They have a third branch now. Would recommend it to anyone who asks me about a good preschool.

Just wanted to add on Kara experience, the new branch at jayamahal extension is excellent-both in terms of ambience and location (opposite to park greenery silence , compared to busy street locations of other schools). My daughter went there there and loved the learning style and play crafts;professionalism at its best which is missing in most others schools in Bangalore . Would recommend this to anyone who wants children to have freedom and be nurtured in their own natural ways!

Podar jumbo kids at HSR layout was the worst preschool , i had ever seen.Please dont join your kid here…. i cant write in words , how worst is miss mamatha towards the kids
On similar lines a strict NO NO for Kara Jayamahal. someone named Savith and the head are horrible ..worst nightmare with mosquitos and unhealthy practises..money minting …careful .

I have had a wonderful experience at Prime Years Play School and Day care in Jeevan Bima Nagar / Indira Nagar area. Their ambience is great, teaching methodology is superb, they even have periodic seminars and for a school which is just 5 months old, already have earned a good standing and reputation in that area.

please specify a landmark. Kidzee has centres off Bannerghatta Rd, Kanakapura Rd and in JP Nagar..possible that one of these is near your place. Kidzee is the best..

I do second the opinion posted by Tarak. The Kara school at Jayamahal is deplorable. A strict NO. Their centre head is a monster. The staff call each other darling and sweetheart, but you will come to know their real colours once you pay up the fees. My three year old son had a horrifying experience. He cries the moment he see the centre head. My honest advise is to stay far far away from Kara. Viswa appears to be someone from Kara. Good disguise;)
Any reviews of DEENS ACADEMY? I am planning to put my son aged 2.5 years in a pre-school in whitefield area. I have enquired about the Deens Academy. The details are-
School hours: 4.5
Fees: INR 20,000 (one time) and INR 50,000 per annum.
Is it worth paying? Any reviews of Deens Academy or alternate playschools at whitefield would be highly appriciable.

Not sure how good it is.
If you are considering montessori for your daughter the best option for you is Gear Innovative. One of the best in that area. But admission is very difficult.

I found Kid Glove to be listed as one of the best on indiaparenting.com. However, when I went there, I found the principal to be very rude. I would not be comfortable to leave my kid with someone who doen’t even know to behave properly. And, I was not impressed with the facilities at all.

Ok, for all those folks who want to get a taste of Gaia first hand, read this. My son goes to Gaia, I am not a foreigner, I am a 100% Bangalorean and could have chosen any school of my liking, but I can tell all your doubting Thomas that Gaia is one of the very best out there. Looks like a couple of bloggers here didn’t like the smile of the staff, made a disparaging remark on Indu, and have one common crib, that of Gaia being for foreigners! See, that is precisely why I want my kid to go to Gaia, so that he can get a multi cultural experience of the world, learn to play with French Kids, eat with German kids and sing with the Italians and argue with the Americans! what better experience will you want for your kid then such a wholesome global experience in the heart of the city! Yes, sure my son does not know how to write yet, he is 3 plus, but who cares! he can sing and talk and creatively understand the world around him better than many of the by rote trained kids. My son has a respect for people from different parts of the world and is constantly inquiring since the curriculum ensures that the creative juices of your child blossom fully.
Now let’s talk about the staff, see the support staff that is made up of 8-10 girls are simply outstanding. FOlks like Vandana, Mamata, Lalli, etc are very dedicated helpers who make sure that the kids are safe and treated very well. The teaching staff is good, Indu, Geeta and all the other teachers do their best and the head, the CEO/Principal is simply awesome. Neena who runs the school is the daughter of the eminent scientist Dr Raja Ramanna and she is a wonderful educator, a caring teacher and a genuinely warm human being. All this talk about the teaching staff being plastic and lean towards the foreign parents are all BS! My wife and I are very happy, my son is the most happiest, there is no pressure to learn ABC and 123, but the schools has instilled a joy in learning! that’s what you want. And finally, we love it so much that we are sending our 20 month daughter in Jan 2009!

In case you wud be interested….I just went to take a look at the new school Roots To Wings starting in HSR layout. It is just opposite the BDA complex. I am very much impressed by the facilities, curriculum, and the facilitator there. She knows what she is saying. The school is a little on the expensive side, but as all parents are, I don’t mind spending if my child will receive the quality of education that they promise.

I heard that kara and neev have to close operations as pre-schools on rented premises are facing many problems with landlords and neighbors as they will have to shut down or keep moving out. It is better for parents to check out this before taking risk of putting their child in and losing money

I suggest you visit Pupil Tree. I don’t know about the AECS layout branch but they have one in Benson Town which I’ve heard great things about.
Even I had a bad experience with KARA4KIDS, the ayas told me that the moment parents leave, the kids are huddled in to a play room and are left to themselves under the care of uneducated ayas. Was told that they are planning to open a centre at Gurgaon, hence unable to pay for good staff/teachers. Please stay far away from Kara and their CEO Katherine Rustumji who has prejudice against coloured people.
Dear All, I am a current parent at Kara and strongly disagree with the negative comments given before! My experience has only been positive. The teachers are amazing and the children happy and I have recommended the school to all my friends. Sonia, either you are in the management of Kara or was asked by someone in Kara to write this post. If you are a real parent I wonder how you have been staying with Kara for long. May be you haven’t been to the school after you have admitted your child. Try and get friendly with an Aya there and ask her discreetly. They will give you the real picture.
Anushka, I regularly take advantage of the school’s open door policy spending time in the classroom and to pick up my child at different times. This is the best way to really check what is happening. Which center is your child attending? Have you attended any of Kara’s programs for parents? Does your child eat lunch in school? Dear All…………..i would like to tell you about Applekids , Vignan Nagar is the right place for ur 2.5yrs to 3.5yrs old kid. my daughter dipti was not willing to mingle with anyone in the group . after she started going to Applekids shez very happy and even on saturday and sunday’s too she wants to go to school. Centre Head is very good and she takes the responsibilty of each kid and i loved the way she handles each kids.

Infact my child is 3.8yrs and i did not try any other regular school. Some parents along with me are requesting the principle to start with Jr.KG so that my kid can continue for another year.

Have moved my kid from Kara , the place is haunted by cold wars and bad words and so called edcuated ayas and disguised head . My child often overheard words like bull shit etc .
Chidren being dragged across,poked in eyes, disgraced due to color of skin, allergic..all hppens .
( I second earlier opinion of Katherine , blinded to indian parents and kids, complains vanish in her mail,boxes ). .One good teacher told me my compalins were openly discussed and laughed at by the disgustive head and others.
its the GoodLord punishing them for all sins IF the centre at jayamahal is shuttng down. My child is now happy at home with his mom (she stoped wroking )as we are yet to recover from the nightmarish experience.

Just for your information. I was not convinced with Roots to Wings. The ambience might be wonderful but the head is not clear with what she says. And also got a feedback from a friend that she calls up people on admission status n she convinces them by bringing down the fees. If they really stand for quality education they should not practice this i guess.

I visited jumbo kids again for a second enquiry. It was the time for school to leave and hence happened to meet few parents at the exit as well. My wife and I spoke to few of them out the practices at school. We got a very positive feedback. And now we have decided that dhruv would go only there. He has already started chanting jumbo kids. He has liked the place more than we parents i guess.

I think that neev by far offers th best in curriculum, facilities and staff.
The others mentioned which are part of the franchisee chains especially podar jumbo, kid zee and the new entrant roots to wings fool unknowing parents with fancy downloaded but not understood curriculum, untrained staff who do not know abcd of what to do with young children and only glitz and glamour to fool. Such people should be behind bars. People wake up and speak for the rights of our children. Don’t be taken in by fancy marketing for shallow ideas. Ask first what they pay their teachers and what training is given to them and you will know how genuine they are to give your child a good learning experience.

My son has been going to Akshara Montessori for over a year now but has lately, from one week, has refused to go and cries a lot when being sent to school
After repeatedly asking he said that teachers in the school slap kids if they don’t listen to them (don’t eat or put on their shoes themselves, clean their areas after the activities, go to the bathroom often, etc). The headmistress (Sophie) also hits kids who don’t listen or cry after being slapped by teachers. Some of these teachers and the headmistress do not even deny hitting kids. They have no regrets and also proudly proclaim that it is the right way to discipline kids.
My son has not been slapped but is scared after seeing someone else getting slapped. I am removing my son from this school but wanted to know whether other schools in Bangalore also follow similar practices. Some parents I spoke to at Akshara do not have any problems with teachers slapping their kids once in a while if they create too much of trouble. What do yo think?

Dear All, I am a current parent at Kid glove HSR and strongly disagree with the negative comments given before! meenaxi has her own way of doing thigs which surely is good for the kids… parents may find her little strange ,but she is great wtith the kids. my daughter is 2 and is always exited to go there. before this I ve experienced few more like angle heart and others … to to my experience this is a great place for kds developementMy experience has only been positive. the children are happy and we have recommended the school to all my friends.

my son goes to kid glove and i would completely disagree with both of you..first of all seema g can you plz identify yourself and srujana i had a talk with the principle and she said that she knows you pretty well you had been there for your childs admission and sat there for 2 hrs…if your child was crying so much why do you need to sit there at all? and yes the toy thing i have never experienced this..and i dont thinhk what you saying is true.

If the principal told you that she knows me well and the rest of the story, let me tell you that she is 100% bluffing. It was the first and only time that I went to Kid Glove. Dear Readers, what I have posted above is my true experience. Chetna, if you do not not agree with it, though you are entitled to your own opinion, there is no need to jump into the conclusion that it is not true. As far as the advice abt the good expensive international school goes, I have found a good school which suits me and my kiddo, and we are extremely happy. i totally agree with Raj. As long as they get the money they are not bothered about anything else. I had a bitter experience with Podar jumbo KIds JP nagar branch. It is very badly managed with a very undisciplined and not caring for anything center head. TIll date when ever i went there I never met her simply bcz she is not there and the teachers are clueless about anything u ask them. the other day I went there to pay the fees for my son. at 1:45 pm I called to the school enwuiring about the fees split up details and by 2 25 when I reached there the center head who informed me the previous day that they are open from 10 30 till 3 was no where to be seen and the teachers were of no help. as we have paid a partial fees we do not know whether to continue there or not. also i heard that the day care center there is pretty crowded with all the children dumped in one room.

I had been there to give an interview and also check for my kid’s admission. I think it is an excellent school and has all the things required for a child’s wholstic development. However I must say that they are quite expensive. If you can afford then its a great place to get your child into.

If you are looking out for a good pre-school in HSR Layout, I think I would definitely suggest Podar Happy Kids. My daughter Aarushi goes there. She did her schooling there last year, being very happy with the schooling methodologies, we are continuing there. She is happy, enjoying and learning as well. She is not stressed to learn. Its a wonderful n a very homely environment there. You can keep it as a choice open for your decision.

My daughter goes to Kid Gloves at HSR layout and is very happy there.
The principal, Meenakshi, provides special care and personal attention to all children.
She maintained constant communication with me, as my daughter settled down at Kid Gloves.
We discussed every small aspect about my daughter’s day and experiences, how her mood was etc. - to an extent that I felt I was with my daughter all day. I dont think any other place would care to do that.
At the end of the day, we want to provide our children with good upbringing and make sure that in these impressionable years they are with people who share our value system.

My kid goes to Kid gloves HSR Layout since June this year and I feel we have made the right decision on a nursery & day care.
The infrastructure in good and its not fakely exaggerated, which is the case with many other places. The principal Meenakshi law is a little bit choosy when it comes to admitting a child but provides very good personal attention. There is a lot of focus on moral values and other aspects that should be inculcated in kids to make them better human beings apart from the general curriculum. Looks are definitely not deceptive as far as kid gloves goes. No flowery picture is painted at the time of admission which goes missing later . Other thing to mention - She pays extreme attention to personal hygiene.

It seems to be about 3-4 km from Indira ngr. Saw their ad in the ind club - Nurture montessori schl. But looks more exclusive and to be catering largely to IT crowd?? Fees are at the upper level, but facl. seem to be real high end.
For parents living in Indira Nagar area, I would recommend “Small World”. 1079/1, 13th A Main H.A.L. II Stage Bangalore, 560008 Karnataka Phone: (80)25271686. My daughter went to Small World for her pre-schooling and the school, the principal and the teachers all are wonderful. My daughter enjoyed the school very much. Even now, after almost two years out of that school, when we ask her who is her favourite teacher, her answer is “Tammy aunty” - Mrs.Tehmina Barker who runs the school. I would recommend this pre-school to anybody, anytime. The school is near Inidira Nagar Telephone Exchange near 80-feet road.

I saw your comment on Roots to Wings centre at HSR Layout. My daughter is in the same centre & I completely disagree with your comments. The info I have is that Roots to Wings is 2+ years old(they started in Delhi in 2006) & they started in Bangalore during 2008. Arguably, this centre is the best in HSR layout as of now. Regarding your inputs on changing teachers, yes, some teachers have changed & constantly new & better staff are getting added. As far as I know, most staff get replaced given competency issues & not mismanagement /treatment. For all parents in HSR Layout, I would urge to visit the centre once, compare with other centres & then take a call. Educomp & Roots to Wings regard this centre as their best in Bangalore amongst the 30 odd centres.

I agree with your comments - looks can be deceptive. I was amazed with the Infrastrucure of Roots to Wings at HSR Layout- that will be the first impression for all parents. But once you put your child in there, it will not take much time for you to realize the most important thing especially in a preschool is the one who manages and spends time with the kid - the teacher. If that is a miss, then the rest might turn a mess.

They have satisfied parents, a homely and caring environment and a structured curriculum for Nursery to KG. They are probably the only school to have parent seminars which are widely appreciated.. I would like to add my comments on Kid Gloves at HSR Layout. It is run by a old lady Meenakshi Law. Though she is around 65 yrs but she is energetic. This day school used to be a great place earlier but now it is very crowded. On top of that there are no teachers apart from Meenakshi. So you can imagine the kind of attention a kid will get among a crowd of 30 odd without any teacher. There is only one helping maid there, that too keep changing in every 15 days so kids never fever confortable. In 3 hours of day school, kids hardly do any physical activities. They also watch cartoon 1 hour out of that just 3 hour.
I will not recommend this day school. There are lot of other day care opened in HSR area so parents can check those before taking any decision.
If anyone looking for a preschools, I suggest they visit all the pre-schools in there area before deciding. Talking to these schools also helps. Question them on all little things you want for your child.
There are plenty of options for parents like
Roots to wings
Apple kids
Happy kids
Kidzee
Euro kids
and others…
Don’t go be exteriors, welcome notes and even number of kids in the school. What is best for your neighbour kid may not be best for your kid.

I think allegations on Kid gloves are nor right. I am personally feeling bad for these comments because my daughter is part of her school for last one and a half years and feel indebted to Meenaxi law for her personal involvement and dedication….over transparent behavior…who is by the way in her early fifties. To my knowledge Kid gloves is totally different concept…kind of gurulul where guru is whole sole in charge of over all development and not maids or unskilled people. For assistance she has at least four employees at a time along with faculty visiting and contributing to the institute from abroad. I feel parents who are convinced with this ideology will find this place great…to my knowledge, Kid gloves is only nurturing center in Bangalore to follow proper routine schedules for toddlers also. I am absolutely happy with my daughters development it is far ahead in comparison to her age mates in mannerism, motor development and knowledge.. lot of teaching… she is two and half and knows all colours including brown and grey, all shapes, national bird, and Gandhiji…. Movies only for day nurturing group in vacations…. Please verify information before putting into public forum…this is my humble request….as it can have wrong consequences. Im posting with my true name as all kid Gloves parents know each other in various interactive modes provided by Meenaxi Law.

Meenakshi Law is a teacher with international experience and uses a mix of both the east and the west.
The school has many unique activities that make learning easy and fun for the children.
She is very particular when it comes to the conduct of maids and replaces them immediately, if she sees an issue. Children are never left to play and interact with the maids. So they dont get used to them or pick their mannerisms.
Since my daughter is very young and sensitive to new faces, Meenakshi has always informed me when a maid was replaced. She also kept me updated - during the day - about how my daughter was faring with a new face around. This personal attention is available to all children at Kid Gloves.

i am again blogging regardingthe podr jumbo kids jp nagar 2nd phase. i haven’t come across such a hopelesslely run place till now. the main problem we are facing with it is they are not commucinating about the holidays. and it happens almost everytime. when the school van doesnt come to pick us up then we have to start calling up the school where no one will reply to ur call, or call up the van driver and then suddenly we will come to know that they have a holiday on that day. and the bunch of people who run that place are clueless when we ask y it was not communicate to us properly. and it has become very regular affair for each and every holiday.

My child is right now with Kid Gloves and i find the place to be very good with children. The whole system which Meenakshi keeps, who is the principal of Kid Gloves, is very trasparent and oriented towards the benefit of kids. There has been remarkable change in the social behavior of my child and i must give the full credit to her for that. I am not saying this because i am the parent because this is the feedback which i have got from other parents who have known my child for long. She gives absolute personal attention to the children and knows their strengths and weaknesses. I am very happy for the choice of school made by me…I think anyone who is planning to start on the school and day nurturing for their children must once go to Kid gloves to see the place.
There are lot of activities which are planned by her like playing with them….parents meeting with each other which is very credible.
Each and every thing is planned in advance and communicated to us…a planner is also given to us in the beginning of the term, which enlists the holidays and activities for the whole year…Till now i have not found a better managed place.

chintu ( not sure if this is the real name) as nidhi and namita have pointed out, this school was one of the best experience my kid had, he still remembers meenakshi very fondly and talks to her on phone even though he is not in the school anymore for close to an year.

Just visited “Sparrows preschool and daycare” the other day for my 11 month old girl. It is a wonderful day-care and preschool. They may not be very flashy but they have substance. They also have online access as in web cams to see from anywhere what are child is doing. I am putting my daughter there from Monday onwards.

I totally agree wth ur views regarding roots to wings,hsr layout.they really focus on making money.they also play favouritism wth the kids,they dont give toys to kids but they will definitely show the toys to the parents when they visit the centre.at the complete centre of hsr layout,only one toilet is wrking and that too is unhygenic!they say all big things on face,,,all emotionalneeds of children and all….but they hardly do what they say!

A parent’s responsibility does not end at dropping the kid at the pre-school/school !
While i notice that many are seeking feedback about various pre-schools, i wonder how many of us have done any/all of the following:
1. visit to the room where the kid sleeps
2. general behaviour of the staff
3. handling of dissent with parents
4. interaction with principal beyond money
5. review of activities and child development
6. kids response to the environment
7. interaction with the kids
8. air quality of the rooms (avoidance of incense,freshner)
9. kids behaviour in the morning and in the evening
10. how the kid relates with the facilitator (aka teacher)
11. any whiff of behaviourla pressure or bullying among existing kids.
12. condition of the toys, mats etc.
13. audio-visual instruction medium.
As one of my friend always says, we adults may not understand what the kid says, but the kid understands everything the adults say or do !

I would like to respond to Mr.Maneesh as he was searching for a play school and would like to know about Kid gloves. My son is going there from Feb 2009. I have seen much improvement than expected after he has started going to Kid gloves. The teacher is particular about extracurricular activities and she does maintain an activity calender for each day of the year, which is shared with the parents on starting of the academic session . I have seen the kids happy there and also heard of many parents putting their kids to kid gloves from other play schools. The teacher pays attention to each and every kid and inform his/her status to parents in a periodic base such that each parent think that their kid is important to the teacher. If you wish a bright future for your kids, please do not pay attention to any other fake comments. By the way, watching TV is only for day care kids when they dont want to play outside. Even though Roots to Wings is a franchisee of Educomp, please do not come to a conclusion that children/parents are treated the same way all over. Its got a lot to do with passion than money. My son Yashas goes to Eurokids in this area and must say thay have a splendd school… not much shoo shaa going on but academics english and concepts learnt are excellent. Hi, I came to this page blogging and was surprised at the depth of comments on this forum. I really thought Kid Gloves was a small little place for kids tucked away in a pocket with most of the parents landing there purely on word of mouth or when dejected by the existing day care. I have been a parent associated with the school for more than two years and I have not seen a teacher more dedicated and involved with each and every kid. Meenakshi uses maids (btw she has some 3-4 spread through the day) only to oversee the cleaning and peripheral activities . The result is visible in the vocabulary and the confidence of the kids. My kid now says all P&Qs and corrects me when i miss or go wrong.
Divya, Try Child-Care Montessori & Daycare in Koramangala 3rd block. They have a nice website and the school also has a very professional and informative monthly newsletter. They have a limited number of school and daycare openings and give personal care to each child.

I truly regret trusting Meenakshi Law with my child and recommending Kid Gloves to others.
My daughter (1year 10months) has been subjected to mental and physical torment by Meenakshi Law of Kid Gloves, HSR Layout.
She would require 3 more months of therapy before she can get back to her original self. If the psychologist permits, I plan to upload the complete report with the audio recordings of the sessions on my website.
Meenakshi Law (Kid Gloves) should mention ‘Day Torturing’ instead of ‘Day Nurturing’ in her brochure.
I had a very bad experience at Roots to Wings @ HSR Layout. It is all about money for them, i don’t think they have the right skill set to run a preschool or day-care. All they have is a booklet they can show you on how to run a school. Thouh they seem pleasantly attractive and seem to have a good place, the child is not in the right hands.
As discussed earlier in this forum, I stand by my opinion about Kid Gloves. My kid has been at the centre for last two year and I am completely satisfied. I feel into days scenario their are ample options for us and as an intellectual and logical human being we do make choices as per our requirements. Sometimes those are wrong. It takes hardly few days or weeks to rectify it specially if it is related to our kids. I am sorry to see such a strong comment about Kid Gloves
It was very surprising to see such negative comments about KID Gloves. My Son (1yr, 10 month) have been to Kid Gloves since last 5 months. The best part of this place is that one gets to know everything about the child each day – as to how he behaved during his lunch time, during sleep, while he was playing with other kids etc etc. The worst part is, you get the details in a very raw form not seasoned , whether its good or bad. This is what parents probably can’t take it at times. This is probably what Meenakshi is paying for being too open or realistic.
I shifted my son from another day care to KID GLOVES but I appreciate my decision. Meenakshi takes utmost care and personal interest on each one of them.

In HSR we have a playschool on every corner and all seem to be working fine. With so many to choose from I believe it is the onus is on parents to choose what works best for your child. If it takes more than a year for you, Namita to realize that Kid Gloves was not working for your child …… I think its time we look into ourselves and question our role as parents. Is our responsibility to raise our child over once we put her into a school and a daycare???
I am very closely associated with Kid Gloves and my daughters were the first two kids who enrolled. Till date I have not regretted my decision, in fact recommended the place to one and all. Today all my colleagues from NIFT have moved their kids from other playschools to kid gloves and in total I have made 8 recommendations and all are continuing till date…. Many of us have association close to two years and though the kids are moving to formal schools the choice of day nurturing still remains Kid Gloves.
I have observed how well your daughter was responding to Kid Gloves and she was really attached to Meenakshi…. Or bapcha as kids fondly call her. We have been a family and bumped into each other every now and then. You may have a personal difference in opinion with her and I respect the fact that you withdrew the child. But to malign the school and its ethics is nor fair.
If i remember right, she made an exception with your kid coz she does not usually take kids this young.
I completely agree with Richa and was equally surprise to know that Ms. Namita took one whole year to realise that her daughter was under mental and physical torment. My son is of same age as yours and i feel i can relate to it better. i used to see both of them playing so well with Bapchah (Meenakshi). i have shifted my son from another day care only because i wanted a place where the kid is not left in the hands of maids or caretakers - but the principal or the owner involves oneself with the kids. Meenakshi - the Principal is always with the kids - a small rash or mark on my son - which i might have missed or overlooked will be reported immediately by Meenakshi. she gives personal attention to all and the my son now refuses to come back home in the evening. Every kid is different and every parent is different, every day is a different day - so please a request to all parents - just because you had a bad day, you cannot malign the name of the school in public. This is only a starting - what will happen when your child grows - one cannot keep changing school

The last thing we want is “adult women” undertaking violence against the girl child ! In many cases, the attackers are individuals who have a history of alcohol-abuse or substance abuse and don’t have their own families.
It is the responsibility of each one of us, to bring such undesirable incidents to the fore, so that appropriate legal steps can be taken and the future generation not harmed.

Firstly, you cannot talk about anyone so negatively in public. You are not a judge in a court of law. As for calling Richa, Nidhi and Jonalee “3 Idiots” , you could be charged under section 354 (A) of the Indian Penal Code. (By the way I dont think you understood the meaning of the title of the Movie “3 Idiots”).
Do lookup the sections of the Indian Penal Code and read the laws of our land.
Also who gave you the authority to give various names to the institution and its principal. (A crime chargeable under Section 499 of the Indian Penal Code)
More importantly, we are all citizens of India and we as Indians do not care about caste, religion, creed, or culture. A true Indian treats all his fellow citizens equally, weather they are from Patna or Bihar (FYI, Patna is the capital of Bihar).

of meeting Ms. Law’s family (which you may never get in this lifetime), you might have to put your head down in shame and walk away after knowing the class and respect they hold in society, and with the people around them.
And oh! Ms. Meenakshi Law has handled more
children in her lifetime that you could count numbers in your mind. And am sure each one of them has grown up to be a wonderful human being. So she definitely knows how to deal with children.
If you have any allegations of “CRIME” against anyone, please do not pronounce your own judgement, as you are not an authority to do so. There are many different and more “DECENT” ways of dealing with it.
Am sure the Indian public is sensible enough to know the difference between right and wrong, true and false.

Have you given a minute of your time to the plight my the little daughter. My daughter is under medication. The family is having a tough time coping with this. Yes, think about it. Try to be more sensitive. This is not the right occasion for mindless marketing. You will have plenty of opportunity for that.

I am not sure why all this cat fight over the web is, though seeing all the comments and posts, I must say that I really feel sorry for the child who is suffering, however if the problem has gone to the extent of getting the child medicated, why do’nt Namita really do a background analysis of the case once again. The other children there are happy, merry and healthy! it can be the case that changing schools might not be of help so please check it out if every thing is normal at home, which after reading Mr.Safi’s comments I suspect. Home is the first and best school for any kid, please try not to ignore this factor before it is too late!

my child was in roots to wings hsr was 2years and we had great experiance.we appriciate the quality they offer to the chidren.i would say it is the best school, we have experianced in hsr.i would strongly recommend u to go for it.

Did you try Kephee, in AECS layout. They have a very good teaching methodology. If you are looking for some thing different than usual frenchisee schools, this is a better choice.This has nice spacious campus.parents who have put their children have very good beedback about this.

Kephee preschool in AECS layout, Brookefield is running an after-school (3-6pm) and weekend activities(sat morn 9-12) to bring out child’s creativity and build their self confidence. Program looks great. I think it is for age group of 3yrs to 10 yrs. My kid has joined this program already. Check out if interested.
